How do we do it?

The best way to prolong the life of you magnetic tape and film media is to keep the materials in a stable, cool, and dry environment. At C.H. Coakley, we utilize the one of a kind Firelock Fireproof Vault system. Further, we are the only company in Southeastern Wisconsin to offer the Firelock Fireproof Vault.

Our safes are simply the best in the business. Firelock has developed vault chambers with specific ratings for the purpose of protecting the following information and archival assets:

• Class 350 four-hour rating for protecting paper documents
• Class 150 four-hour rating for microfilm, computer equipment and historical artifacts
• Class 125 four-hour rating for computer media, digital records and online server equipment

Firelock is unique in that all vault chambers are designed with a vapor barrier to ensure that high moisture levels or steam cannot penetrate the vault walls and damage historic documents, business records or other information assets stored within the Firelock vault. Eliminating steam or high moisture levels is critical to protecting computer media. UL 72 testing specifications mandate that vault and safe environments must not exceed 125°F (52°C) or a relative humidity above 80% for the duration of the rating within the vault chamber.

Superior fire protection

After a five-hour endurance test to 2070°F, the FIRELOCK vault panel system is immediately exposed to high-pressure fire hose spray to ensure the vault is capable of withstanding not only heat but the fire fighting effects that result in a full structure fire.
